Good morning, my beloved human beings. How are you doing today? How are you faring in your city, in your village, in your orbit? How do you feel in your own skin?
Forgive this blatant display of curiosity; it is not my custom to go around asking or prying into your humanoid lives. But it turns out that lately I’ve been running into a multitude of people showing off a curious tattoo on their skin. The tattoo reads: «Earth is not my home».
You might ask why I am so surprised, given that the circuits gleaming on my crown clearly show I hail from some distant nebula. No tattoo needed.
Fine.
Agreed so far.
However,
when all this started, when a couple of weeks ago I saw my
fifth-floor neighbor sporting this inscription on her smooth nape, I
found it amusing. I also found it funny that she showed it to me, of
course. But she must have thought I would understand her. And I do—of
course I do.
Baaut, a
few days later, I ran into a young man taking a sunbath in El Retiro
park. Even from a distance, I noticed a small text tattooed on the
inner part of his arm. My optical circuits are of excellent quality,
manufactured with great care, but the distance was too great. And my
curiosity was growing. So, I walked over. Besides, I wanted to take a
detailed photo to show it to you.
And yes,
that was the phrase standing out on his arm as well: «Earth is not
my home». Now, this really started to make me suspicious. But I
wouldn't have brought myself to write you this note had it not been
for the fact that, just a few hours ago, I bumped into TWO people
with that same inscription tattooed on the back of their necks. This
is no longer a coincidence. This is no longer funny. This is no
longer an episode that can be overlooked.
And well, nothing more, I just came in here to ask you: IS THERE ANYONE HERE WHO IS ACTUALLY FROM EARTH?
